1. What Blackwood Vault is — and is not

Blackwood Vault is a provenance registry for custom trading cards. Makers register each card they produce; the Platform assigns a unique certification ID (BWV format), generates a QR code to apply on the physical card, and publishes a verifiable public authenticity page describing the card, its declared rarity and its issuing maker.

Blackwood Vault is not a grading service. We do not evaluate or certify the physical condition of cards, and nothing on the Platform constitutes a condition grade. Any condition note shown on a card page is a declaration made by the maker, not by us.

2. The registry records declarations

The information attached to a certificate (subject, edition, run size, serial number, materials, photos, condition note, etc.) is declared by the maker who registers the card. Blackwood Vault provides the infrastructure that records these declarations, locks declared rarity (a run of N cannot be exceeded), timestamps registrations and preserves the record.

The “Verified maker” badge indicates that we have manually validated the identity of the maker organization. It does not constitute a guarantee by Le Groupe 24 of the authenticity, quality, legality or value of any specific card.

3. Accounts and roles

Each maker organization has its own isolated space (multi-tenant). Accounts have one of two roles: Admin (full management, including company settings, members, subscription and certificate deletion) and Member (registers and edits cards).

You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials. Two-factor authentication (TOTP) is available and recommended. You must provide accurate information, including the legal company information displayed on your certificates.

4. Free trial and subscription

New organizations receive a 30-day free trial with full access and no credit card required. After the trial, continued use requires the Pro subscription: CA$54.99 per month, or CA$46.74 per month billed annually (CA$560.88 per year — 15% off). Prices exclude applicable taxes and may change with reasonable notice.

Payments are processed by Stripe. You may switch between monthly and annual billing at any time from the Subscription page; switching to annual is invoiced immediately on a prorated basis, switching to monthly applies remaining credit to future invoices. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period. If the trial ends without a subscription, access to the workspace is suspended but your data and public certificate pages are preserved.

5. Your content and your responsibilities

You retain ownership of the content you upload (card photos, descriptions, branding). You grant Le Groupe 24 the licence necessary to host and display this content on the Platform, including on public certificate pages, your public showcase and generated PDF certificates.

You are solely responsible for the cards you produce and register, including compliance with intellectual-property rights (artwork, trademarks, player names and likenesses) and applicable laws. Registering a card in Blackwood Vault does not confer any intellectual-property right and must not be used to pass off counterfeit official products as genuine. We may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or the law.

6. Public pages and scan data

Certificate pages (/c/…) and maker showcases (/m/…) are public and accessible to anyone, including search engines. You control showcase visibility and per-collection visibility from your settings.

When someone views a certificate page, we record technical data for statistics and anti-fraud purposes (timestamp, hashed IP address, browser type). This data feeds the view analytics shown to the maker.

7. Deleting a certificate is permanent

Deleting a card permanently destroys its certificate, photos, scan history and public page. The certification ID is never reissued, and any QR code already printed on a physical card will permanently stop resolving. This is by design: the registry never lies. Deletion requires an Admin role and explicit confirmation.

8. Personal information

We collect the information needed to operate the Platform: account details (name, email, language), company information you choose to display on certificates, subscription and billing data (handled by Stripe), and the technical scan data described above. We do not sell personal information.

Le Groupe 24 complies with applicable privacy laws, including Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25). You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us.

9. Availability and limitation of liability

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Le Groupe 24's total liability for any claim related to the Platform is limited to the amounts you paid for the service during the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for transactions between makers and buyers of cards.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Platform and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for material breach of these Terms, fraudulent use of the registry, or non-payment, with notice where reasonably possible.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Platform. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein; the courts of Quebec have exclusive jurisdiction.
